Quicksilver by Callie Hart
Okay, now I fully understand what all the hype was about. Callie Hart absolutely delivers in Quicksilver—a dark, twisty fantasy romance with sizzling chemistry, intense bonds, and a storyline that grabs hold and doesn’t let go.
From the start, the chemistry between the characters is magnetic, and the slow-burn tension had me flipping pages like my life depended on it. And can we talk about how the MMC always tries to resist the mating bond? Like sir, stop fighting fate—you’re only delaying the inevitable! Of course, once he caves (as they always do), it makes it all the more satisfying. There's just something about watching these stubborn, brooding males fall hard that never gets old.
What really surprised me, though? Carrion. I didn’t expect to like him as much as I did, but he completely grew on me in the most unexpected way. Definitely one of those characters that adds layers and intrigue you didn’t know the story needed—until he’s there stealing scenes.
The ending? A cliffhanger of the highest order. I’m now anxiously awaiting Book 2 and counting down the days. If you're into intense romance, bold world-building, and that classic tug-of-war dynamic between fated mates, Quicksilver is a must-read.
