Blood Over Bright Haven by ML Wang

This one gave me serious Ministry of Magic vibes the whole way through — a secretive, structured world with its own dark underbelly and politics. The writing was beautiful and the concept was solid, but it definitely moved at a slower pace than I expected.

While I enjoyed the story and the message about doing the right thing, standing up for what matters, and recognizing the value in all life, I found myself wishing for a little more “pow” or tension to really sink my teeth into.

Overall, a meaningful, reflective read — just not quite the edge-of-your-seat pacing I personally love.
